Why PAN and it matters

The idea for the Poly Alumni Network (PAN) was initiated in honor of our beloved brother Tesfahun, whose passing inspired former and current students of Bahir Dar Institute of Technology to establish this association.

PAN fondly remembers Engineer Tesfahun, Tagel, Ephrem, and Kefyalew as founding members, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for our network.

At PAN, we are committed to fostering lifelong connections among alumni and affiliates worldwide. Membership offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Professional networking opportunities
  • Access to career resources and mentorship programs
  • Participation in collaborative projects that contribute to the development of members, Ethiopian society, and institutions

Who we are and our Mission

Whether you left BDU years ago or yesterday, the PAN Alumni Network is dedicated to fostering success, fulfillment, and mutual support among its members. Our mission is to engage alumni and affiliates worldwide, fostering connections and sharing experiences. We aim to contribute to the development of our members, Ethiopian society, and institutions through projects, professional services, research collaboration, education, mentorship, fundraising, and training.

The vision of PAN is to establish a unified and resilient alumni association that continuously contributes to the advancement of Ethiopian institutions and communities.

Get Involved

The Alumni Network brings members together several times a year in North America and Ethiopia, impacting diverse members living around the world. Whether in person or virtually, these gatherings aim to reconnect alumni, facilitate networking opportunities, showcase career opportunities, foster learning through shared experiences, encourage volunteerism, and promote social interactions.

Check out the upcoming PAN events and don’t miss the exciting ways to connect with your colleagues.

We also encourage active participation by registering and subscribing to PAN. By promoting PAN, we aim to grow our membership across the globe, expanding our network and enhancing opportunities for collaboration and support among alumni.

  • Fostering strong relationships and cooperation among members.
  • Providing technical support and information to alumni.
  • Supporting communities and projects through professional, volunteer, and potentially financial aid.
  • Facilitating knowledge and technology transfer through research, training, and consultation.
  • Promoting collaboration among Ethiopian and international institutions and professionals.
  • Providing financial support in case of a member’s passing.
  • Organizing fundraising activities to assist members facing economic hardships.

Through these initiatives, PAN strives to create lasting positive impacts and strengthen the bonds within our alumni community.

By joining PAN, members can stay connected, share experiences, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that make a positive impact both locally and globally.
